NEURO-OPTOMETRIC REHABILITATION
We work daily with individuals suffering from vision changes related to stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lyme's Disease, and multiple other neurologic causes. Whether it is double vision, light sensitivity, or headaches, Dr. Hillmer is here to help.
LOW VISION
Dr. Hillmer has nearly 20 years of experience with fitting bioptics for driving in North Dakota and Minnesota. He works closely with Vocational Rehabilitation and State Services of the Blind in both states. He is also well versed in many other low vision options for the specific areas in which you need the most help.
COLOR VISION ASSESSMENT
Dr. Hillmer uses the Rabin Cone Contrast Test , a computerized color vision assessment, to provide the most comprehensive color vision testing available. This test is an approved FAA test for pilots and is also used to monitor and screen for changes related to common diseases such as macular and/or retinal degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, and drug toxicities (Plaquenil, etc). It can be used to monitor and assess neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis and even traumatic brain injuries.

Some vocations also require other specific color vision tests. We have the Ishihara 38 Plate Edition, AO HRR Pseudoisochromatic Plates 2nd Edition, and the Lanthony Desaturated D-15 in our office.

Additionally, Hillmer Eye Clinic is an authorized retailer of EnChroma Color Blind glasses.

CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION
We specialize in the fitting of soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses - such as scleral lenses, and hybrid lenses. Dr. Hillmer has experience with many specialty options for high astigmatism, keratoconus, irregular corneas, and post surgical corneas.
EYEGLASSES
Our optical offers designer frames such as Vera Wang, Coach, and KLiik Denmark (even in petite sizes) for women, just to name a few. David Beckham, Eddie Bauer, and Michael Ryen are some of our offerings for men. We also have a large selection of Maui Jim sunglasses to suit all of your outdoor needs.
MEDICAL & ROUTINE EYE EXAMINATIONS
Dr. Hillmer has valuable experience with the treatment and management of multiple eye conditions, both urgent and chronic. He manages glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, cataracts, dry eye, flashes & floaters consults, foreign body removals, and eye infections on a daily basis.
